Happy 1st Birthday, Z! :: Lewisville Children’s Photographer

First of all, let me thank mama Kristin and daddy Shane for putting up with our antics this past weekend – they were in the midst of a super busy time and still found time to keep our appointment. You guys rock!

Now, on to Mr. Z.  Oh dear, sweet, little Z was a very advanced model for his age.  I can tell you for a fact that not many 1 year olds have mastered the “over-the-shoulder-find-the-light” glamor shot, but Z rocked it (with no coaching from me or Mama)!

This has to be one of my favorites – I think he’s looking up at his Mama:

While Mr. Z is already a sweet little one on his own, we made him even sweeter… with a cake smash!  Here’s a shot from the beginning – not too messy yet:

But things went quickly down hill from here.  I present to you Exhibit A – Frosting Toes (you know how I love frosting toes!!!):

Exhibit B:  A move I shall now call the “Cake Squat.”  Please try to convince your trainers to let you work the Cake Squat into your daily workout routines.  Thank you.

Exhibit C:  The “Oh no!  What I have done?!” Face

Thanks Kristin, Shane, and Z for the super fantastic Saturday morning!  This was an awesome way to kick off our 2010!  Your full gallery will be coming to your inbox soon!

Wacky Wednesday #9 – Finally!

I have been a bad, bad blogger. Can I claim that baby has made me a bad blogger?! I’ve just gotten my feet back under me in the past few days, so please forgive me! Lots of fun pictures, contests, and all kinds of goodies coming in the near future!!! I can’t wait to get everything up and running again the way it should be!

————————
Speaking of the baby… here s/he is (as of yesterday!):

If you’re interested in keeping up with my foray into motherhood, you can check out Tater’s blog:  Waitin’ on Tater.  I’m trying to not post *too* much pregnancy stuff on the DRP blog because I know some of you are just here for the photos!  I would love it if you would visit Tater’s blog if you’re interested though!  Coming soon – the nursery adventures.  Tater’s room is jam packed (I’m not exaggerating here… some days we can’t get the door open) with 3 years worth of furniture we’ve decided to replace and all kinds of assorted randomness that we need to sift through before we actually start turning it into the baby’s room.  The (oh so shameful) before photo will be taken soon and you can follow our progress.  We should find out Tater’s gender in March, so we will be good to go then!

————————

I know I keep saying this, but I am working on getting the blog all spiffy and up to snuff.  The fab guys over at NetRivet had to help me out when their new version of their ProPhoto blog template had a disagreement with my hosting service!  The new template is officially installed (finally) and has a bunch of spiffy new features that I’m hoping to start working on tonight (Gee… where have you heard that before?!).  Seriously though – I actually have energy these days, so I have great hope for things getting done!

P.S.  Tech support from NetRivet is awesome!  If you’re concerned about whether or not you’ll get the help you need if/when you purchase ProPhoto – don’t be.  They were quick (they even responded to me on the weekend when their standard message said I would have to wait ’til Monday to hear anything) and got me up and running in no time.  Love. Them.

————————

I haven’t folded laundry and put it away in at least 8 weeks.  There, I said it.  It goes from the dryer to the basket to my body and back in to the laundry cycle again.  Maybe this should be another project I begin to tackle this week now that I have energy…

————————

I think that’s about all I have for this Wacky Wednesday – life has been exciting with all this being pregnant business but it has also given me an 8:30 bedtime.  Really.  I was at my parents’ house hanging out last night until 10:00 and I thought I was going to have to sleep on their couch, I was so tired!  Excitement and adventure await me, Mikel, our business, and this blog though!  I have a lot of things cooking, samples of new products to show you, and all kinds of fun stuff coming your way in the VERY near future!  I can’t wait to get everything up here!

Pardon Our Dust!

UPDATE: Saturday, 1/30/10 @ Noon – Still working on things – things will look weird throughout the weekend. Yikes! Sorry!

I’m upgrading both wordpress and our spiffy template tonight – please pardon the blog if it looks super funky! I have so much to share over the next couple of days – including a Best of 2009 contest! Stay tuned! Thanks for your patience!

Planning for Spring!

Hi all! I’m getting my feet back under me and starting to get things organized for the spring (finally! I know!). I’m pondering having a day of sessions at a “special location” during Spring Break (which, for me, is March 15-19). The trouble is, I’m having trouble deciding on a location! What do you think? Where would you want to have a special spring shoot?

Be on the lookout this weekend – I’m going to be posting my favorites of 2009, info about new programs and offers coming this year, and hopefully will have a new session to blog (as long as we don’t get rained out!). I think I have about 4 blog posts in my head – hopefully I’ll get them all done!
